The 2nd Annual 'Let's Get Wet Before Christmas' Hash, Sunday 17th December 2006 When: Sunday 17th December, 2006 at 13:00 Where: Pfaffikon, on Lake Zurich and ultimately in: www.alpamare.ch Hare: aMnesia and anyone who wants to help On-Inn: Restaurant What to bring: swim suit, towel, money for the ticket and dinner Word from the hare: Following up on last year's successful event, finishing in the delightfully steamy waters of the Baden Thermal Baths, this year's trail and ensuing wetness will be a bit less cosy, but a lot more wild and fun. Found in Canton Schwyz in the bustling village of Pfaffikon (insert a bunch of mental accent marks, I don't want to change my keyboard for one word), Alpamare is Switzerland's biggest waterpark, as well as a very attractive 'wellness' centre. It's open year round, utilizing a little-known technology called 'heated' water to ensure a comfortable slide through the fresh Mountain air and then finishing back inside the indoor landing pools. For those not into having their bodies thrown around through tunnels and tubes, there are a number of heated pools, including the 36 degree Iodine brine Pool. The plan of attack is to meet at the Pfaffikon Train Station AT 13:00 and do an A to B Run, finishing at the park. Walkers are highly welcome as according to www.alpamare.ch , it's only a 15 minute walk from the station. As of now, I can't gaurantee a bag car so if anyone would like to volunteer to fill the role, please E-mail or contact me soon. I'll try to get a reminder message out a week or so before with those details. If no car is available, I volunteer to carry everyone's bags to the park during the trail, thus alleviating the need for one. Regarding beer and a circle, I (or unless a local Hashing group would like to help me out by bringing some) will arrange that some beer is on hand and we can do a circle if there is interest. The park is open until 22:00 so if we get started at 13:00ish, into the park by 14:30ish or so, dinner at 19:00ish, people can still get home at a decent hour for the last week before Christmas and in time to start building up some brain cells before the Bern HHH Wednesday Run, which will be our 2nd Annual 'Christmas Apero Multiple Drink-Stop Hash'. How's that for a name? Cost: If we can get 12 or more people, the cost will be 33CHF per person for a 4 hour stay. If fewer than 12, it will be 39CHF. To get the discount, we need to reserve in advance so if I get enough definite RSVPs, we can go for the discount. For dinner after, there are two restaurants at the park, one being a self-service BBQ/Pizza place where you prepare it all yourself. I imagine they are not the cheapest in the world so if anyone has been there and knows, or knows of another restaurant in the vicinity that would be better, let me know and we can work on it. Easiest, though, would to just stay there but we can be flexible. Directions: From Zurich: IR train leaving at 12:12, arriving at 12:39 in Pfaffikon S 8 - 12:14 from Zurich HB, arriving at 12:56 in Pfaffikon From St. Gallen and Arth Goldau Take the "Voralpen-Express" directly to Pfäffikon From Sargans.
