Hot Hash News

Inner Circles

The official over-achiever award goes to Sticky Fingers for a triple-whammy of laying three trails back-to-back. Yes, that’s right, she hared three times in 7 days and therefore seriously needs to get a life (prompt songmeister).

A month of stupidity…err we mean sobriety

Bravely (some say foolishly) Christian Harlot and Thirty Thursday committed to a month of sobriety in order to raise funds for the upcoming Red Dress Run. Their aim, stay sober for the entire month of June, worked surprisingly well and earned over 650 CHF.

Hash Shit that rocked

We’ve once again been rocking some awesome hash shit over the last few months. For those of you who consumed too much alcohol or are in fact still wasted, here’s a recap:

SOLA Staffette

SOLA_group

The racists were out in force for this year’s SOLA Staffette and were lucky enough to be greeted with beer angels at the end of every long, hard leg. We were also blessed with the one singular day of sunshine which fell on the day itself and amazingly nobody was a victim to this little-known phenomenon called “heat”. The funtimes rolled on at the post-sola party… if you search hard someone, somewhere will remember something…surely….

Cupcake Hash

CupcakeHash

Cheesy Balls outdid himself once again with the Cupcake Hash, not only organizing a stunning and diverse trail, but also littering it with little treasures in the shape of cupcakes (some of which were stolen by the evil witch of the West, Butt Bugger). Though the truth came out rather quickly about the true intentions for this hash, the cupcakes were prepared by a pack of lovely Harrietes. This was all a ruse to force some ladies into Cheesy Balls’ life, that conniving little bastard…. But damn, check out the spoils!

The ‘Scavenger Hunt Not Hash’ Hash

Keys to the Treasure took great liberty with our loosey goosey Sunday Funday Hash and managed to put together the quirky The “Scavenger Hunt Not Hash” Hash. As we all split up into separate motley crews to fulfill various tasks the hash managed to make Zurich feel unsafe/uncomfortable in whole new ways, that ought to count as a success!! Be sure to check out the many pics on the Facebook Group ZH3 Photos for a trip down memory lane, or just to see what you’ve missed out on.

Burns and a Loch Hash

WetHash

Dog Woody and just Silvie led the pack through a severe accumulation of ground moisture at the Burns and a Loch Hash. All the efforts were for naught though, as not a single Hasher drowned (one poor hash dog came rather close to an early end though). Nevertheless, the rewards were high, as we were greeted by a stunning view of a flooded Greifensee, and an even stunninger view of a Shot Stop circle! Some Hares know how to appease the townfolk wielding pitchforks and swiss army knives.

The Christian Harlot and Thirsty Thursday Challenge

To raise even more money for the Theodora Stiftung Giggle Clowns this year (2016), Christian Harlot and Thirsty Thursday have put themselves up to the ultimate challenge: One month of no beer and no wine!

Zürich Winterfest 2016 recap

Winterfest 2016

(Friday January 22 – Sunday January 24, 2016)

A full Weekend of hashy fun, snow, trails, ice, cold drinks, fabulous Food, and much more, including stylish haberdashery.

The real animals of the Hash Kingdom, from close and afar, gathered around the Zurich Zoo to celebrate Winterfest 2016. Trails were laid and mostly found. Beer was downed, and mostly kept down. Delicious food was gorged on and reportedly resulted in multiple orgasms. Quim de la quim was invented, licked and gobbled down. Shamcock finally found his long lost son and we named him Smoking Cock.

Other highlights included:

The Naked Run – A hardy group of naked, drunk hashers braved the snow, cold and frost to follow a lengthy and complex trail of paprika chips around the building. Highlights included narrowly avoiding being stuck to a frozen car and a delightfully revealing circle RA’ed by But His Nut.

Shoe fairies – The highly-amusing and very artistic shoe fairies appeared during the night and made Slippery Digit‘s Sunday morning lay a little more time-consuming than he had planned.

Red Dress R*n 2015

checkTheodora

The 2015 Red Dress R*n took place on a sunny August 22 this year and raised a healthy CHF1’650 for Stiftung Theodora, the charity that sends clowns into hospital to entertain sick children. 47 hashers and guests turned up, all splendidly attired in red dresses, men, women and children alike. The day was balmy and bright, and the hashers were barmy and bright red.

Early in the r*n we passed close to the Zürich Children’s Hospital, a major host for the clowns that we were supporting, and the venue of one of our first on-hash challenge. We had been told to be quiet in order not to disturb the children, and to forgo our normal shouts of ‘On-on!’ telling the rest of the running pack that we were on trail and where we were. Of course some of our number chose to head up the hill along a false trail. As we could not call out to them, they plodded on upwards, eyes firmly fixed on the road looking for flour, while those of us that knew better gesticulated in the equivalent of a bellow to tell them where the trail really went. Gesticulation is really no substitute for a good ‘Onon!’ shout, and so some of them were out of sight before they found out their mistake. It took them a while to catch up.

Further up the hill, a passing motorist’s eyebrows disappeared into his hairline at the spectacle of several large and hairy men prancing around in red dresses. Fortunately, the road was straight as he cruised slowly by staring fixedly out of the side window – he did not feel brave enough to open it and ask what we were doing, and so no doubt had a good, if not very credible, tale to tell to his family over dinner that evening.

The beer stop was a playground on a winding trail that followed a stream back down the mountain. Hashers, beer and swings and slides led to an inevitable result and we exercised the Zürich hash motto, ‘It’s never too late to have a happy childhood’, before heading down back to venue at Hottingerplatz. Here, there is a large fountain with multiple drinking points where children, dogs and hot hashy feet could take a dip and cool off. We took a group photo and presented a cheque to the volunteer from the Stiftung, who was bemused but grateful, and then headed off for the circle.

The circle was large, raucous and well-oiled. Transgressors, real and imagined were hauled in to down-down their punishments, as were those ‘guilty’ of great and good deeds. Dresses were subjected to a the critical gaze of the RAs, and the wearers of any found not to be red enough, nor dressy enough were subjected to the usual sanctions.

Special thanks should go to Wet & Ready for negotiating the labyrinth of local regulations to bring the r*n into being, with a little help from our friends (Copwiler and guests). Additional appreciation is owed to Furry Asscandy, who donated all the beer, thus enabling us to reach the heady total of CHF1’650 for the charity donation. We shall be doing it again. We have a target to beat now, so see you next year!
